Repeat Prescriptions

We operate a repeat prescription system. On each computerised prescription is a tear-off counterfoil detailing items that can be prescribed for repeated use. You should return this to the surgery (with a SAE if you wish it to be posted to you). Indicate by ticking which items you require. To avoid mistakes, we are not able to deal with repeat prescriptions over the telephone. 

Order Prescription Online

Please allow TWO FULL WORKING DAYS to process your repeat prescription request. From time to time we will ask to see you to review your treatment.

• You can now order prescriptions from your doctor on-line.

• You can also ask for a prescription to be sent to a local chemist - please check with the surgery which chemists provide this service before using this option for the first time.  IF YOU PLAN TO USE THIS SERVICE, PLEASE CHECK WITH THE CHEMIST FIRST AS TO HOW OFTEN THEY MAKE A COLLECTION FROM THE SURGERY.

• This is for Repeat Prescriptions or items already agreed with the Practice.

• The order usually takes two working days to process

• If you need a prescription more quickly than three workings days - DO NOT use this service

Prescriptions Charges and Exemptions

Extensive exemption and remission arrangements protect those likely to have difficulty in paying charges (NHS prescription and dental charges, optical and hospital travel costs).

The NHS prescription charge is a flat-rate amount which successive Governments have thought it reasonable to charge for those who can afford to pay for their medicines.  Prescription prepayment certificates (PPCs) offer real savings for people who need extensive medication.

Please allow TWO WORKING DAYS, excluding weekends and Bank Holidays, for your request to be processed. Any problems please telephone the surgery.
